Today I’m sharing a few advantage/disadvantage drills that simulate the offense having a slight advantage and putting them into decision-making situations.
Here are some things to consider:
Teach the reads/reactions that you’re looking for within the concepts of your offense. Don’t just throw your players out there - tell them (and reward) what you want.
These are not just offensive drills - they are also defensive drills. Tell your defense to be active, communicate, zone up on the backside, scramble, switch, etc. Defensive decision-making is important as well.
Get the groups as small as you can and put your players in multiple positions.
The point is to give them gamelike reps in practice so that, in the games, they make the right decision.
Alter these however best fits your team, program, players, and goals.
