What’s up, folks?
Here are a few sets I’ve seen lately that I think could:
get you a few buckets this season
be easily/simply installed
be run on multiple levels
flow into your offensive concepts if they don’t “work”
Enjoy!
UCSB Post Iso BLOB
This super simple set can help you utilize any mismatch you might have size wise. Just post up your advantage, have them pop out, receive the inbounds, and clear space so they can attack the rim right off the initial pass.
Texas Southern Double Ball Screen Double
This set offers a lot of double screens/staggers for defenders to probably guard. Mix up your slips, have a big pop, change up cutter reactions, etc. and you make it pretty tough for the defense to defend everything properly.
Howard Line Ball Screen
This type of action was fairly common in college hoops this season (and lots of seasons), but the twist with moving it to the elbow is something I like.
UNCA - Pick and Pop Away Curl
Man, this puts x5 in some tough spots. They have to defend the pick and pop AND also try and help on the tight curl to the rim. You could also easily flow right back into the ballscreen if 4 isn’t there.
Drake 4 Out Double Ball Screen
I like the curl away/pop back action here just because it’s a unique way to flow into the ballscreen. Most teams don’t run it this way, so it might at least cause the defense to pause or hesitate when defending it.
Until next time!
