Some coaches put a lot of value on baseline out-of-bounds (BLOB) situations.
Some coaches prefer to just get the ball in.
Some coaches don’t even install plays when throwing it in.
This post is proposing an idea that meets in the middle:
Getting the ball in and flowing directly into your offense
Basically, instead of getting inbounds, handing it to your point guard, and setting up your play/offense…just flow right into it from the inbounds pass.
No stoppage.
Just flow.
For the sake of the post, I’m just going to do all of these out of a basic box set - you can alter these however you see fit and in the ways that make most sense for your team.
Here are some examples (but again, you can have these flow into ANY concept or offensive scheme you want):
You can make this concept work with just about anything else that you run.
You can even adapt it to any of your favorite set plays.
With a little creativity, you can design something that flows into your offense.
And when you can do that, it gives your team a little bit of advantage.
